12th World Cup International Martial Arts Championship
Fighting Rules

   Chapter  1.  General information

SECTION 1.The international martial arts competition consists barehanded duel fight competition and demonstrations contest. All contestants should fellow the competition rules.


SECTION
2.  The individual top level demonstration contest and group demonstrations contest include the following three categories:

(1) Fist techniques: Regular style, traditional style, internal style, etc.                

(2) Weapons: All kinds of long and short weapons.  
(3) Special skills: Qi- gong, Qing - gong and special abilities.
(All weapons and tools must be approved by the committee)

SECTION 3. All contestants should have skillful fist techniques and special ability of martial arts.

SECTION 4.  Any contestants participates in the barehanded duel fight competition or individual top level and group demonstrations competition should be evaluated by the committee and hold the certificate of admittance to participate in the competition. * The evaluation of eligibility to join the barehanded contest should be in accordance with Section 16 of this contest rules.

Chapter 2.  Court and Equipment                

SECTION 5. Courts
1.Barehanded duel fight contest court:
(1) Court for the barehanded duel fight contest is a 10 -12m square floor,
even with slightly elastic properties.  
(2)  Double lines are marked around the court. The space inside the inner line is for the contest. The outer line is to prevent the audience from entering the contest court.
2.Demonstration Court: Same as above.                        


SECTION 6.
Equipment
1.Uniform: All competitors prepare their own competition uniforms. No restriction on the color of the uniform.
2.The committee will provide the contestants with belts.
3.Use only the contest safety equipment provided by the committee.

   Chapter 3.  Contest staff responsibilities

SECTION 7. The contest has one general chief judge and one general vice chief judge
1.Explain the contest rules and questions.  
2.Assign Judges’ duties. 
3.Check the results of competitions.          
4.Announce the winners.
5. General Vice Chief Judge assumes the responsibilities when General Chief Judge is absent.                      

SECTION 8.
Executive Chief Judges
1.In charge of contest. 
2. Enforce the contest rules. 
3. Announce the winner of each contest.  

SECTION 9. Scoring Judges

1.Determine the match scores. 
2. Record match faults and deduct scores.                    


SECTION 10. Examination Staffs
1.Measure weights, check equipment, call names and lead match team into off the court.           
2.
Deliver the competitor group lists.


SECTION 11.
Recorders
1.Record and compute the match scores, present the results to the head Judge for signature and then send to the reporters for announcement. 
2.File the documents of all the competitors.
               


SECTION 12. Time Keepers and Reporters
1.Time keepers should inform the reporters three minutes before the match to announce the preparation for the competition.  
2.
Keep records for match, break and interruption times. 3.Give signals for starting and
ending of a contest and announce the winning team and winners.                           


SECTION 13.  Arbitrary and Judgment Committee
1.There are one Arbitrary Chief Judge, one Arbitrary Vice Chief Judge, and several Arbitrary Judge staffs  :
(1) Explain demonstration contest rules, solve conflicts, check the results of competitions and announce the winners
(2) Arbitrary Vice Chief Judge assumes responsibility when Arbitrary Chief Judge is absent.
2. Arbitrary Judge Staffs:
(1) Evaluate the demonstrations contest scores.
(2) Evaluate the special honorable awards.

  SECTION 14. Administrators of the Court
 
1.One Chief Administrator, several administrators and cashiers. 
  2.Maintain the safety and order.
 
3.Manage all affairs of the contests. 
  4.Ticket management.                             

  SECTION 15. Medical Staff
 
1. First aids. 
  2. Health care for all participants. 
  3. Determine whether a competitor can continue contest.
  4. Examine competitor’s health if necessary.

  Chapter 4.  Barehanded Duel Fight Contests

SECTION 16. Classification
MEN DIVIDED INTO FIVE CLASSES:
CLASS 1. ( Light  weight ): Under 120 lb. ( under 54 kg  )
CLASS 2. (Middle weight): 120 - 140 lb. ( 54 - 63 kg )
CLASS 3. (Super middle weight): 140 - 160 lb. (64 - 73 kg )
CLASS 4. (Heavy weight ): 160 - 180 lb. ( 74 - 82 kg  )
CLASS 5. (Super heavy weight): Above 180 lb. ( above 82 kg  )
WOMEN DIVIDED INTO FIVE CLASSES:
CLASS 1. ( Light weight ): Under 110 lb. ( under 50 kg  )
CLASS 2. (Middle weight): 110 - 130 lb. ( 50 - 59 kg )
CLASS 3. (Super middle weight): 130 - 150 lb. (60 - 67 kg )
CLASS 4. (Heavy weight): 150 - 170 lb. (68 - 77 kg )
CLASS 5. ( Super heavy weight ): Above 170 lb. ( above 77 kg )
Children and youth Category: Children group (age under 12 ). Youth Group (age between 13 -17 ).
Degree Group Duel Fight Competition: 1 -4th Degree. over 5th Degree

 
SECTION 17.
SCORES
1. STRIKING THE HEAD PORTION:
(1) Striking the head (except the restricted area) one time or striking down the competitor gains one point.
(2) Hit and injure the competitor’s head or face bleeding deduct 2 points.
2. STRIKING THE PORTION BELOW THE NECK:
(1) Punching or kicking any portion below the neck (except the restricted area) gains one point.
(2) Striking or kicking down the competitor (includes one hand or one knee touched the ground) gains three points.
(3)Tripping down the competitor gains one point. Tripping the competitor out of the contest court gains three points. No score if both fall down. Warning will be given by Judge for violent fighting.
(4)  Forcing the competitor out of the court gains one point. No score for pushing the competitor out of the court with two hands or if both are outside the court.
3. WINNER:      
(1In a match, the one who strikes down the opponent three times (except striking the opponent three times (except striking the head portion) wins.  
(2) 
In a match, the one who pins the opponent wins the match if the opponent cannot escape within five seconds or the opponent gives a signal as loser.  
(3)   In a
match, the one who raises the opponent over his shoulders wins the match.  
(4)  In a match, the one who
heavily strikes the opponent down to the ground or outside of the court wins the match if the opponent can not continue the contest in ten seconds.
( if the opponent return to the contest within nine seconds the attacker wins one striking point ).  
(5)
In one contest , the one who wins more points in three match wins 
the contest. If both sides win the same amount of points, the winner will be determined based upon the following criteria:
a.The one who has the least faults wins the contest
.  
b.The one who has more technical attacks wins the contest.
  
c.The one who has higher spirit and better Kung-Fu skill wins the contest.

ECTION 18.
FAULTS AND RESTRICTIONS
1.Prohibited attacking portions of body :
1
) Eyes  
2
) Throat  
3
) Groin area   
4
) Back head.
2. Points deduction:
(1 ) 
Deduct three points for the first fault. (Serious fault may result in the cancellation of the contestant’s 
right to continue participating ).
(2)  Cancel the right of contest for the second violation. In intentional injury
against the competitor, the  violator will be responsible for the illegal attack and medical expenses.
3.Other violations:
(1) Against the Judge
(2) Attacking before the fighting signal is given by the Judge.
(3) Continuing to fight when the stop fighting signal is given by the Judge.
(4) Continuing to fight when the opponent is on the ground (considered as an intentional injury ). 
(5) Continuing to fight when the opponent is out of the court.
4.Punishments:

(1) Warning for the first violation(  except (4) and (5) in  3 above ).
(2) Deduct two point for the second violation(except (4) and (5) in  3 above).
(3) Fails the match for the third violation.
(4) Deduct three points for the first violation of items (4) and (5) in 3; and fails the match for the second time violation.


SECTION 19.
TIME AND RULES OF CONTEST
1. Two minutes for each match(one minute for each match for children).
2.
One minute break between matches.
3.
Winning of two matches win the contest (need to finish three matches).
 

CHAPTER 5. Rules of Interruption for Injury

SECTION 20. INTERRUPTION FOR INJURY
1.The executive Judge calls for an interruption when a competitor is injured. During the interruption the competitor is not allowed to talk to others.
2.The time of interruption should be deducted from the total amount of contest time.
3.Doctor’s permission is required for an injured person to continue the contest. He will be dismissed from the contest if the interruption exceeds five minutes.

CHAPTER 6.
Rules of Scoring and Judging

SECTION 21. POINTS
1. In each match the four scoring judge are divided into two groups-red and blue, to judge the score 
independently and to record faults.

2.The two groups of red and blue scoring judges stand at the diagonal corners of the court.

3. The notification of point deduction due to a fault by red (blue) group will be made by the Executive Judge with hand signal to the red (blue) group  of scoring judges for record. In each match, the sum of points gained and deducted divided by two is the actual earned points of the red (blue) group. The scoring judges report their score records to the Chief Judge for determining and announcing the winner of each match.

 

SECTION 22. THE WINNERS

1.The one who wins two matches out of three matches wins the contest. At the end of each contest, the Chief Judge announces the winner and then the Executive Judge raises the winner’s arm to show the winner of the contest.  

2. If in three matches both sides are tied, then the Chief Judge will call a meeting with the Executive Judges and Scoring Judges to determine the winner based on the rules of Section 17.3.(5). Neither side can raise objections. If the   winner cannot be determined by the rules then the contest will be extended to one additional match.

        

CHAPTER 7.Scoring demonstrations competition     

SECTION 23. TIME OF DEMONSTRATION

1.Individual show: Limited to three minutes (except special event ).

2.Grope show: Limited to ten minutes (except special event ).

 

SECTION 24. JUDGING STANDARD

1.Spirit and behavior:15 points. 

2. Uniform and Ceremony: 15 points. 

3. Kung-Fu skill: 70 points (  hand, eye, body, method, steps, style, and regulation Qi movement each 10 points.)    

4. Total score is 100 points.           

 

CHAPTER 8. Complaints

SECTION 25. PROCEDURES OF COMPLAINTS

1. Complaint of participant’s qualification should be directed to the Arbitrary Committee in writing with signature. The Arbitrary Committee’s decision is final.

2.Dispute in barehanded contest or demonstration contest will be resolved by the Arbitrary Chief Judge’s decision.

3.All other complaints can be made by oral statements:  however, a written statement should be presented to the committee in 30 minutes. Otherwise, the complaint is not valid.

4. Those who do not follow the complaint procedure and disturb the order of the contest will be dismissed  and lose their right of contest.

SECTION 26. THESE RULES WILL BE IN EFFECT UPON APPROVAL BY THE CORRESPONDING GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.
